Appalling Customer Service - Ordered a furniture set with table and foot stools on 29th April, 2018. Was advised when we paid for it, that it would be five days for delivery. Five days came and went and when I phoned up to ask when my furniture was likely to be getting delivered, I was informed that it had gone out of stock a few days after we had placed our order! They didn't know when it would be due back in as it was apparently coming from Malaysia. We were offered a caramel coloured suite as a replacement at this stage which was politely declined as it was a grey suite we had ordered. A phone call from Garden Furniture 4 U at this stage to inform us that it had gone out of stock would have been courteous, given they were not going to be able to fulfil the order in the time scale they had given at the time or ordering. The following week we phoned in again and still no sign of the order and no date given for expected delivery. After four more phone calls to the showroom and promises of it being delivered by the end of each week we phoned again and requested a refund, they advised that the furniture would be delivered to us on the Thursday of that week. There was another grey suite in a container in their premises that they could let us see but it wasn't built up. I said that I would like to try it if that was the case. As this was going to be built up and they had confirmed that our original offer would definitely be delivered in 2 days, we would wait till Thursday. On Wednesday I emailed them to ask what the delivery slot was likely to be so I could arrange for someone to be at the house to accept the delivery and we would be informed on the Thursday morning. At lunchtime I contacted the showroom again and heard nothing back. At 4.55pm the local courier phoned me to arrange delivery for the Friday. I explained that this was meant to have been delivered that day. They said that the courier company had only collected it from Garden Furniture 4U that afternoon after 3pm and it was booked for a two day delivery so it was never going to get to me by 5pm on Thursday as promised by the Garden Furniture 4 U. On Friday morning I phoned Garden Furniture 4 U to ask what was happening and had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the Manager Charlie, who was nothing but rude, arrogant and was very aggressive on the phone to me. He even tried to blame the courier company. Being lied too every week is not acceptable. Be honest and up front if you want to keep your customers. If we had been told that the furniture was gong to take six weeks to arrive we would have accepted that, not told 5 days and then having to wait six weeks and being fobbed off and lied too every week. He didn't have the decency to apologise but shouted down the phone if I wanted a cover yes or no. I asked him what he meant and it was a cover to protect the furniture which he would provide free of charge. It sounded like it was such a convenience to offer us this by a way of resolving such a terrible service. He then threatened to bring the copy of the delivery note to my door to prove to me that it was booked for a next day delivery. When the courier company arrived it was definitely not a next day delivery so again another lie. I returned home to find the covers had been thrown in my porch at the front door! Absolutely disgusting customer service with a Manager that clearly has no management or people skills. I would never shop here again nor recommend this company.
Ordered Garden Furniture from this company and even got it delivered to Oban, fantastic service and a pleasure to deal with would highly recommend.
